Dr Amishi Panwar is a medical anthropologist with a keen interest in global health, Science and Technology Studies, applied health, and interdisciplinary research. She has a PhD in Anthropology and Sociology of Development from the Geneva Graduate Institute and is currently based at the Department of Population Health Sciences, Bristol Medical School. Trained in anthropology and sociology, her work focuses on the politics of emerging biotechnologies, biobanking, material cultures, antibiotic contaminations, and the rise of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) in India.
Since 2022, she has been working on studying the social and cultural drivers of AMR in a pharmaceutical hub in India.
