Jane is a medical anthropologist who draws on a material culture perspective in her work.
Her current research looks at infection management, communication and antibiotic prescribing in the care home sector for the Antibiotic Research in Care Homes (ARCH) Study (http://arch-antibiotics.org.uk/).
ARCH uses multidisciplinary perspectives from epidemiology, psychology and anthropology to understand AMR and AMS in care home settings. Jane is currently using ethnographic data to inform the design and evaluation of a complex support system (ARCHeS) being piloted in test sites to help encourage the safe reduction of prescribing for common infections.
