Rachel is a researcher in ethnology in the Department of Arts and Cultural Sciences at Lund University. She is currently part of the interdisciplinary Post-Antibiotic Futures theme at the Pufendorf Institute for Advanced Studies, Lund University (2019-2020).  This theme interrogates the realities and imaginings of the post-antibiotic era, by investigating possible futures for a more livable and sustainable relationship to antibiotics, to infections and to social life.

Her own research in AMR focuses on data visualizations and the way in which they are developed and spread via popular culture and social media. More broadly, she is interested in global health governance and diplomacy and is currently working on a project funded by the Swedish Research Council on the history of Sweden’s engagement in global health and development.

She obtained her PhD in social anthropology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in 2014.
